FAQ's

When is the sitting fee due?

The sitting fee is paid at the time of scheduling / booking of your session. We accept cash, checks and credit cards.

What should we expect?

We take a comfortable, easy, and fun approach to our photo sessions. Our goal is to capture carefully crafted images of you side by side with happy surprises as we move through your shoot. You'll find it a relaxing, enjoyable, low-stress experience.

Where will our photo shoot take place?

Photo shoots take place in our studio at 25 Inn Street in downtown Newburyport, and / or at a location of your choice if you have purchased a session option that includes a location.

How should I dress?

It's a good idea to have more than one change of clothes. Solid colors & earth tones always work best, along with that favorite piece of clothing you just love to be seen in. Include some fun accessories such as scarves, hats and jewlery.

Who should attend the shoot?

Your parents, your best friend, your second best friend, your third best friend! You get the idea.

PLEASE NOTE: A parent is mandatory.

Do you work in B&W?

Yes. We photograph with high end professional digital cameras. These cameras capture a wide range of information that includes both color and B&W.

Do you retouch photographs?

Yes. Retouching is included on all prints you order at no additional charge, although some restrictions apply.

Do you provide hair styling and makeup?

We HIGHLY recommend you get your hair and makeup done by a professional stylist just before your session so you can look your very best. Makeup is an important component on how your finished photos will look. If you don’t know a stylist, we work with an independent hair and makeup stylist from Newburyport who will come to the studio and give you her undivided attention for your session. This is a big plus for you as your hair and makeup will remain fresh for your entire session. The cost for this optional service varies depending on the stylist available and is paid directly to the stylist. If you want to do your own makeup, here is a link to a step-by-step makeup guide from foundation to lipgloss, www.makeupgeek.com. We also suggest that you not try anything new with your hair before your session. Stay with the color and style you are comfortable with.

What happens in the case of inclement weather?

Your portrait session will be rescheduled for the next available date agreed upon, unless it's an inside session.

Do I have to order prints through you?

Yes. In order for us to maintain a high level of quality, it is important that we control the reproduction of our work.

When do we pay for prints?

Because of the custom nature of print orders, full payment is due at the time of your order.

Do you offer flat cards, greeting cards, coffee table books or other press printed items?

Yes. Please ask for specific pricing on these items.

May we change our print order once it has been placed?

In some cases yes, although once the file preparation process has begun, you may be subject to a surcharge.

What if I would like to purchase volume copies of a single image at a single size?

We are happy to accommodate your requests. Please contact us for specific prices.

Do you archive (save) all the images you shoot?

No. Only the images presented to you in your Client Gallery and the images ordered will be saved to our archives. However, we offer no guarantee that they will be available at a future date, even though we have multiple backup copies and do everything possible to insure the security of our backups.

Do you sell your files?
